BRITTNEY SHIPP is an Emmy Award – Winning on-air meteorologist and children’s book author. As a STEM advocate for young girls, her first book, The Meteorologist in Me, released in 2016, focuses on positive affirmations, weather facts and follows the story of an aspiring meteorologist named Summer Winters. In 2025, she is excited to release her newest children’s book called, Drippity Drop, The Rapping Raindrop. This whimsical story helps children learn about rain, snow, lightning and storm safety through rhymes. She appears on NBC10 every weeknight at 5, 7 and 11pm in Philadelphia.

 When the Winters family wants a weather question answered, Drippity Drop, the rapping raindrop appears from the skies with his rhymes. 

Illustrating how rain turns to snow, why thunder is so loud and guidance on storm safety for kids. Written by Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist Brittney Shipp, these weather facts are some of the questions kids are most curious about. Drippity Drop is a new character joining Summer Winters and her crew from Shipp’s first children’s book, The Meteorologist in Me children’s book.  Follow and sing along as Drippity Drop raps while teaching weather facts in a fun way!
