DAVID C. MILLER has written several children’s books promoting literacy and affirming the richness of Black culture. David is the author of Ida B, the Beekeeper, Winnie the Wizard of Wall Street, Gabe & His Green Thumb, Chef Toussaint, and numerous other books. David is currently working on a unique children’s book project highlighting the life and legacy of Kwame Nkrumah (the First President of Ghana). This new book will be written in English and Twi(June 2024). David received his Ph.D. in the School of Social Work at Morgan State University. Miller lives with his family in Washington, DC.

IDA B, THE BEEKEEPER

Ida B., the Beekeeper, highlights the journey of a nine-year-old entrepreneur and her family, who have been raising bees and harvesting honey for over 100 years. The book written is by David Miller and illustrated by C. J. Love. It is an excellent read for students in 2nd grade and up. This book honors the life and legacy of Ida B. Wells, a journalist and Black freedom fighter.
