BIO

NATASHA A. TARPLEY is an acclaimed children’s book author whose books affirm the power of kids to choose who and what they want to be. Her classic picture book, I Love My Hair!, an ode to Black childhood and natural beauty, is a staple on national school and library reading lists, and a favorite among readers around the world. Natasha is also the author of the award-winning picture book, The Me I Choose To Be, the new picture book series, Keyana Loves…, as well as the middle grade mystery, The Harlem Charade, which she is adapting into a new children’s podcast. Natasha is also the writer and co-creator of the award-winning children’s narrative podcast, Opal Watson: Private Eye, and is currently developing a new animated children’s television series. She lives in Chicago with her family.
